A Moroccan Berber rug is a handwoven rug rooted in the weaving traditions of Morocco's Amazigh (Berber) communities. Styles vary widely by region, from thick, high-pile rugs suited to cooler mountain areas to flatwoven pieces with bold geometric patterns. What they share is a hand-based process, with each rug woven row by row on a loom.

Handmade in Morocco
Each Nassja rug is handmade in Morocco by skilled Moroccan artisans, with the character and individuality that come from handcrafted work.
Authentic Craftsmanship
Every rug reflects the natural variations of handmade production. Small differences in weave, texture, dimensions, pattern, shape, or color are part of what makes each piece unique.
Natural Character
Because each rug is made by hand, no two pieces are exactly alike. These subtle variations are not defects, but part of the rug’s handmade identity. Colors may also appear slightly different depending on lighting and screen settings.
Made for Your Space
Nassja offers both ready-to-ship rugs and custom / made-to-order rugs, giving you the choice between an existing piece and a rug made to your selected size or specifications.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. Nassja focuses exclusively on handmade Moroccan rugs, and every rug we offer is made by hand rather than by machine. That handmade character can be seen in the finished piece.
Nassja rugs are handmade in Morocco by local Moroccan artisans. Operating from Morocco, Nassja works with local Moroccan artisans to bring their craft to homes around the world. The making of each rug depends on human skill, practiced technique, and careful handwork.
Moroccan rugs can be made from different fibers depending on the style and construction. Nassja rugs are made from wool, a material widely used in traditional Moroccan rug-making for its texture, warmth, and character.
The difference is in how the rug is built. A handmade rug is created by hand using traditional weaving or knotting techniques, while a machine-made rug is produced mechanically with greater uniformity and speed. Handmade rugs naturally carry subtle variations that reflect the human process behind their making.
Yes. If you have particular dimensions in mind, you can request a custom Moroccan rug made to your agreed size. Share your room's measurements with us and we'll help you work out what fits your space. Because the rug is made entirely by hand, the finished piece will closely follow the agreed dimensions while carrying small natural variations.
Custom orders can include a direction for color and design as well as size. Contact us with your ideas and we'll discuss what is possible and agree on the specifications before production begins. Not every request may be achievable, so we confirm the details with you directly.
Production of a Custom / Made-to-Order rug takes approximately 20–40 business days. Once the rug is finished and dispatched, estimated delivery is 6–18 business days, depending on the destination, customs clearance, and carrier operations.
Yes. Nassja offers free worldwide shipping on all orders, with tracking provided for every shipment, and no standard shipping charges are added at checkout. Shipping may not be available to certain destinations because of carrier restrictions, customs requirements, international trade restrictions, or local laws; if we can't ship to your address, we'll contact you as soon as possible and provide a full refund for the affected order. Free shipping does not include any customs duties or import taxes your country may charge.
Ready-to-Ship rugs are processed and dispatched within 1–3 business days, then delivered in an estimated 6–18 business days. Custom / Made-to-Order rugs take approximately 20–40 business days to produce, followed by the same 6–18 business day delivery estimate after dispatch. These are estimates and can vary with your destination, customs clearance, and carrier operations. See our Shipping Policy for full details.
We ship with trusted international carriers, including DHL Express, FedEx, and Aramex. The carrier for your order depends on your destination, the package size, and shipping requirements.

Regular, gentle care goes a long way. Vacuum on a low-power setting, rotate the rug periodically so it wears evenly, blot spills quickly, and avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals. Always follow any specific care instructions supplied with your rug, as the right approach can depend on its materials and construction.

We love this rug so much! Thr colors are gorgeous! The rug is so soft and cozy! I asked for a shorter pile height and they responded immediately and said the customization was so problem and no additional cost. It also arrived much faster than I expected. Customer service is really great and responsive. The only resin I did not give 5 stars is that the rug itself is not completely rectangular. The wool seems to be too tight on edges. It’s really cushy and fluffy so we like that.

ENG: I absolutely love this rug! Although it’s true that it looked more vibrant on the website, with stronger colors, once I placed it in my living room I ended up liking it just the same. During the first few days, you need to let it settle and give it a deep clean, and although it still sheds a bit of fluff now, it’s obviously normal due to the type of materials it’s made of. Overall, I would buy here again. The shipping was very fast, and the whole process was very easy and problem-free. I wo...
